Life doesn't take people away from us; it merely removes the blindfold. A deep dive into the illusion of closeness, half-feelings, and the art of no longer knocking on doors with no one behind them.
In the beginning, we live in the illusion that everyone who smiles at us is genuinely on our side. That everyone who makes a promise will keep it, and that those who walk by our side truly intend to stay. Sooner or later, however, life itself reveals what words so carefully hide. It shatters our naive notions and teaches us to distinguish three types of people: the unconditional "yes," the definitive "no," and those who were never truly part of our destiny.
👁️ For those whose blindfolds have fallen
Life will show you very clearly who your true and unconditional "yes" is. It is not the one who celebrates with you at the peak. It is the one who stays when everything around you collapses. The one who doesn't quietly slip away at the first sign of hardship and who isn't satisfied with merely uttering beautiful esoteric words of support.
The true "yes" takes action. They support you and do not back down. It is a loyal heart and a steady nervous system that requires no special conditions to prove it can be relied upon. This person does not drain the energy in your space; they stabilize it purely through their presence.
Simultaneously, life will reveal who your unconditional "no" is. This is the person who was never truly ready to stand by you. The one who always found a perfect, logical excuse. The one who doubted you in your moments of weakness and who appeared in your life only when it was convenient or when you were useful to them.
These people are not our enemies. They are our teachers of boundaries. They teach us that not every affection means support, and not every physical closeness carries the responsibility of the soul.
The hardest, most painful, and most important phase of shadow work, however, is recognizing the third group: people you considered a crucial part of your story, even though they never truly were.
The Illusion of Presence: They created a flawless impression of being there, yet they never truly stood by you. They occupied physical and mental space in your life, but failed to fill it with their authentic self.
Half-Feelings: They left vague signs, made empty promises, and gifted you only half of their feelings, keeping you in a constant state of uncertainty.
These people drained your time, your strength, and your faith. Until one day, you realized the terrifying truth: all that time, you had been hoping for someone who never had any intention of staying.
However devastating this realization may be, it is absolutely invaluable. Because spiritual maturity and energetic sovereignty mean exactly this: knowing when to stop knocking on doors where no one opens for you. To stop chasing those who do not meet you halfway. And above all, to stop imagining loyalty and love where there is only empty habit or one-sided benefit.
Life does not take people away from us. Sometimes, it merely removes the blindfold from our eyes. And then you understand that you didn't lose everyone. You just recognized who never deserved a place in your soul. True peace arrives when you stop begging for the presence of those who never had a sincere intention to stay. ⚖️
