A reflection on the fragility of gratitude and the art of protecting one's inner peace. How not to let the toxicity of the external world change the flavor of your own soul.
"Fox, why does a person so quickly forget everything good? Just yesterday he was giving thanks for a miracle... and today he is angry at the first bitterness that crosses his path." The Fox gazed at the spring, in which the sky was calmly reflecting. "Because gratitude is fragile," she said quietly. "If you do not tend to it every day, it is very easily drowned out by the first disappointment." The boy was silent. "And what should I do when my life begins to turn bitter?" "Do not first look for a way to change the world around you. First, protect your heart from the bitterness. Because when it turns bitter, even the purest water will taste like poison." "And will the bitterness eventually disappear?" The Fox smiled. "Every bitterness eventually leaves. The question is whether your peace will leave before it does." The boy drank from the spring. And he understood that not everything bitter in life has to turn bitter in his heart.
🦊 For those who protect their inner spring
The fundamental instinct of the human ego is to react to every injustice, disappointment, or bitterness by trying to change the external world. We fight with circumstances, argue with people, and expend an enormous amount of energy trying to force reality to taste differently. However, this is a battle lost in advance.
The world is, and always will be, full of duality — bringing both miracles and disappointments. The highest form of energetic sovereignty is not the ability to avoid wounds, but the ability not to allow them to penetrate your inner source. If you allow grievance to consume you, your inner water will turn bitter. And a person with a bitter heart cannot feel joy, even if they were standing in the middle of paradise.
Gratitude is not just a polite phrase. From an energetic perspective, it is the most powerful protective frequency that consciousness can generate. It acts as a shield for the nervous system. But as the Fox reminded us, it is fragile. The human mind's addiction to negativity makes us take ten good things for granted, yet one bad thing can trigger a storm within us.
Tending to gratitude means consciously cultivating and maintaining this frequency every single day. It is the conscious decision to see the reflection of the sky in the spring, even when thorns grow around it.
Every pain, every betrayal, and every bitterness that life brings you has a beginning and an end. They are merely clouds passing across the sky. The question, however, is not whether these clouds will leave, but who you will become while they pass. Will you maintain your essence, or will you let anger steal your peace (Aequanimitas)?
Do not let the world force you to forget who you truly are. Protect your heart. It is your only compass in this reality.
True strength does not lie in never tasting the bitterness of the world. It lies in not allowing it to become the flavor of your own soul. ⚖️
